Say what you mean & mean what you say

I got an email with this picture from Brett today and of course it made me laugh. But, it also made me think of all the times I've said something and been misunderstood. Now 90% of the time, I chose the wrong words, wrong tone - and it was "taken the wrong way". Can we truly say what we mean and mean what you say...if the people hearing the words interprets them differently?

These thoughts led me to the idea that words we use can mean so many different things to other people. They have the potential to spark so much emotion...good or bad.
Isn't it amazing that a phrase can remind you of the past or remind you of someone who used to always say it ~ even long after they are gone...
Simply hearing that word or phrase can inspire, disappoint, anger or sadden you ~ to the point that you can actually feel it in your body?
A word or phrase that means nothing to one person can mean everything to someone else.
